SGRR University’s out-campus will soon open in Kotdwar.
A special psychiatric treatment campaign will be launched for mentally challenged children.
Dehradun . Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Mrs. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib on Tuesday. On this occasion, she paid a courtesy call to Sri Darbar Sahib’s Sajjadegaddi Nashin and Honorable President of Sri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, and received his blessings. An out-campus of Sri Guru Ram Rai University is soon opening in Kotdwar.
In keeping with Sri Darbar Sahib tradition, Assembly Speaker Mrs. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan was welcomed on Tuesday, and Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj presented her with a memento from Sri Darbar Sahib. During Mrs. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan’s tenure, Sri Guru Ram Rai University established a Paramedical and Nursing College in Kotdwar, providing students from Kotdwar and surrounding areas with opportunities for higher education. She expressed her gratitude to Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj for opening the institute for higher education, nursing, and paramedical studies in Kotdwar.
During the meeting, the two discussed current issues in Uttarakhand. It was also revealed that, in response to the cases of mentally challenged children within a 5-7 kilometer radius of Jhandichad, Kotdwar, a special medical campaign will be conducted by a joint team from the Department of Psychiatry and Community Medicine of Shri Guru Ram Rai University. The first phase will focus on data collection, the causes, and diagnosis of mental disorders, while the second phase will involve treating these children.
In the near future, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, in collaboration with Shri Guru Ram Rai University, will organize a large cancer awareness and free health checkup camp in the Kotdwar area.
Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj informed the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly about the public welfare work being undertaken by SGRR University, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, and Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly commended the significant contributions of SGRR institutions in the fields of medicine, health, and education and congratulated Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj for the excellent management of the institutions.
